Toxins in soaps, shampoos and body products matter because what goes on our skin penetrates into the rest of the body.
We began our journey making homemade soap as per Dr. Clark’s instructions in The Cure for All Cancers, p. 466. She talked about the burden toxic chemicals are to the rest of the body. No wonder we began making our own soap as soon as possible.
“Your immune system is precious. You have (or had) 5000 white blood cells in every little dot of blood. They have the job of keeping you clear of parasites, bacteria, viruses and unnatural chemicals. Even if the unnatural chemicals you eat do not do great harm, they must still be removed. White blood cells that are busy removing aluminum, nickel, mercury, copper fragrance, or even soap are not free to fight bacteria and viruses and parasites. Give your immune system a chance to heal your body by removing the burden on it.” p. 62, The Cure for All Cancers.
After a few years, we had some products tested by the syncrometer, and when these products came back as safe, we decided to venture into using these products. They helped us to use our precious time in doing other life-giving activities than making homemade soap.
We began to get hand soap from Vermont Soap, and I can say that their soaps are some of the best I have ever used. Our family favourite was the Oatmeal Lavender and Rosemary soaps. We highly recommend Vermont Soaps.
When you see this description, you will know immediately why we felt this hand soap would fit Dr. Clark’s standards. And I have experienced that the bars are mild and facial quality, and also great for any problem or sensitive skin.
“Our super-mild handmade soap bars are USDA Certified Organic to Food Standards. Made from a hypoallergenic vegetable base of organic Coconut, Palm, Olive and Palm Kernel oils, we use natural, aromatherapy essential oils and botanical extracts to alter the effects of this moisturizing soap base on your skin. All bars are facial quality. Different blends for different skin types. It takes nearly a month to handcraft a bar of Vermont Soap. Only this 200 year old process yields a bar of soap suitable for the most sensitive skin. All of our products are free of artificial colors, fragrances or preservatives. We use Rosemary Extract as a natural preservative. No animal products (except honey soap), animal by-products or animal testing.”
5 Gallon Unscented Castile Liquid Soap Cubetainer
(this cube packaging is the replacement for the 5-gallon bucket we used)
The added ingredients in commercial laundry soaps is the very reason we made the switch to natural castile soaps from Vermont Soaps. Although there are other scents, we chose natural unscented, because we felt there could be pollutants in scents. However after using unscented soap for years, I would likely move to any of their scented castile soaps with confidence.
“Did you know that most foaming liquids; shampoo, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, body wash, car wash, floor cleaners etc., are basically the same stuff? . . . . Most of these formulas contain sodium lauryl (laureth) sulfate (SLS) and Diethanolamine (DEA), which may have harmful side effects. In response we began working with Organic Castile Liquid Soap. These are saponified (soap based) foaming concentrates we make from certified organic coconut, olive and jojoba oils, essential oils, organic aloe vera and rosemary extract. After many trials we developed our own proprietary formula. We believe it to be the mildest castile soap formula available anywhere! This has become the base from which we developed our entire line of castile liquid soaps, bath & shower gels and nontoxic cleaners. . . . Most companies add synthetic foaming boosters! Ingredients: Saponified organic oils of coconut, olive and jojoba, organic aloe vera, rosemary extract (preservative). To which we add natural essential oil blends for scent and effect. Castile Liquid Soaps are natural detergent substitutes. They are free of artificial colors, fragrances, preservatives, animal products, their byproducts, and animal testing. Our Castile Liquid Soaps are used for hand and body wash, oily hair shampoo and for general purpose cleaning. Castile Liquid Soaps come in Lemongrass Zen, Sweet Orange, Country Lavender (our most popular), Tea Tree, Peppermint Magic, Sweet Grass, Pine Woods and Unscented.”
